Accuracy and Transparency

Tap tempo accuracy depends directly on how consistently you tap. After 8–10 steady taps, expect accuracy within 1–2 BPM of the actual tempo. More taps improve accuracy. Inconsistent tapping — particularly switching between quarter-note and eighth-note pulse interpretations — is the most common source of error.
Audio beat detection accuracy works reliably for tracks with clear, consistent percussion. It struggles with heavy swing, sparse drums, complex polyrhythmic patterns, and tracks with significant tempo drift. Results should be verified by ear and treated as a starting point rather than a definitive measurement for complex material.
